Demonstrate the quick date change mechanism on watch movement

While assembling this Chinese wrist watch movement (Replica Rolex),

 I thought I would do just a short video to demonstrate the quick date change through the keyless mechanism on watch movement.

Due to having to work on more wrist watches, and I like to remove the mainsprings from the barrel when servicing movement. I needed smaller diameter barrel mainspring winder set as my pocket watch mainspring winder is to large.

The battery in the watch had blown, so I had to completely clean the contacts.

Cleaned watch in the ultrasonic cleaner.

 There were no spring bars on watch case, two new 18mm by 1.8mm thick spring bars were purchased.

 No Strap on watch – New 18mm Straight end Golden stainless steel watch band with Bracelet clasp purchased.

HOT HOT in workshop

With the VERY HOT HOT weather we are having, I had to fit blinds to the roof of my workshop!

Clock in for repair, as the plastic hand movement shaft snapped at wheel end.

Broken Shaft 

I manufactured on my watchmakers lathe a part from brass rod. Squared end for the wheel.

Hand drilled and tapping on lathe, to put a 1.4mm thread on other end to screw into the plastic shaft.

Job completed.

Clock back in working order.

Chronograph reset instructions after battery change.

1.  Pull crown all the way out (Position 3)

2. Press A button (Top) to move second hand forward or Press button B (Bottom) to move second hand backwards.

3. Push crown back in after setting time.
